What is brave wallet (bat)?

The Brave Wallet is a self-custody wallet built into the Brave browser. When a user sets up a Brave Wallet, they can use it to manage their BAT. Additionally, they can also purchase cryptocurrencies and NFTs using non-crypto payment systems such as credit and debit cards.

What is the difference between the Brave wallet and brave rewards?

Note: the Brave Wallet is different from Brave Rewards, the opt-in feature that rewards Brave users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing privacy-protecting ads. Users can store redeemed BAT from Brave Rewards in the Brave Wallet after going through the custodial process, but the two features are otherwise not connected.

Does brave wallet require any browser extensions?

How do I use bat in Brave rewards?

You can add externally-purchased BAT to be used in Brave Rewards. Since your BAT balance in Rewards is the BAT balance in your custodial account (see point #2 above), you can purchase BAT elsewhere, deposit it into your custodial account, and then have access to that BAT in Brave Rewards.
